Trent Athletics Welcomes Dillon Muldoon as Head Coach of Women's Curling Team

Nathan McFadden, Director, Trent Athletics & Recreation, has announced the appointment of Dillon Muldoon as the new head coach of the Excalibur women's varsity curling team for the 2024-25 season.

A former student-athlete, Muldoon was MVP of the men's curling team in 2016 and served as an assistant coach for the women's team last year.

"We are excited to have Dillon move into our Head Coach position after taking on increased coaching responsibilities last season," said McFadden. "His communication style and knowledge of the game will continue to benefit our team as we look to move our program forward."

Joining him as the lead assistant coach will be former head coach Joe Muldoon, ensuring continuity and strong leadership for the team.

"I am thrilled to have Joe Muldoon continue his coaching involvement with our Women's Curling program as he transitions from Head Coach to a Lead Assistant role. Our Excalibur program benefits greatly from the character, caring, and expertise exhibited by these two outstanding individuals," said McFadden.

Dillon Muldoon helped lead the team to an impressive 3-1 record at the 2024 OUA Championships, and he is eager to continue building on that success.

"I am excited to step into the head coach role for the varsity women's curling program," said Muldoon. "With strong quarterfinal showings over the last three seasons, I look forward to continuing to help build and grow on the successes of the program while developing elite student-athletes."

The Excalibur women's curling team will begin their season on November 9 at the Guelph Invitational.
