Thomas Hoggarth (Lakefield, ON) who is a current member of the Peterborough Junior A Lakers and also a member of the Team Ontario Field Lacrosse Team that will be competing at the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) has committed to Trent for the fall of 2014.  He is also still in the tryout phase to make Team Ontario's U-19 team.

"I have seen Thomas grow up through his years of high school lacrosse at Lakefield," said Head Coach Geoff McKinley who coached against him for his entire high school career. "He is a very skilled player that can take on various roles while also playing a physical game, we are thrilled to have him aboard for the upcoming season and feel he will be able to make an immediate impact."

Why he chose Trent:

"I chose Trent because of its location and its reputation for not only being a great academic institution but for its small community feel as well."

What he will bring to the team:

" I am a dedicated team player who takes great pride when my team is able to work well together. I work hard to make a contribution to that effort."

On being able to represent Ontario:

"I will be playing at the end of July for the NAIG Team Ontario and am still trying out for Team Ontario which will compete at Nationals in August. I feel honoured to have been chosen and will take full advantage of both experiences should I be able to make Team O as well."

Hoggarth will be studying Environmental science while at Trent.
